Same holiday ad, six new faces: H3 Max Recast, $5.63 per 15 s
H3 Max Recast swaps the person in a finished ad and keeps its motion, cuts and sound. At 768p, six 15-second regional versions cost $33.78.

Re-casting a finished 15-second holiday ad with a new person costs $5.63 at 768p and $8.44 at 1080p with H3 Max Recast on Sume. Six regional versions are $33.78 at 768p, or $50.64 at 1080p.
The model keeps the source video's motion, camera, cuts and sound and swaps the person, using one photo for each new person you supply. It is built for the case where one ad won and you want it to feel local.
Rates
The Video Router catalog lists H3 Max Recast at $0.30 per second at 768p and $0.45 at 1080p (fal 2026-10-01). Sume bills list × 1.25, which is $0.375 and $0.5625 per second. Duration is the length of your source video, rounded up.
| Resolution | Billable per second | One 15 s version | Six versions |
|---|---|---|---|
| 768p (default) | $0.375 | $5.63 | $33.78 |
| 1080p | $0.5625 | $8.44 | $50.64 |
Inputs and limits
The request needs a video_url of the source and one to four reference_image_urls, one photo for each new person in the scene. The prompt is optional and can run to 2,000 characters. Source length is 5 to 30 seconds, and no single shot may be longer than 15 seconds. There is no text-only mode, and sume/auto never routes here, so you have to name the model.
Call it
Recast goes through Video Router with the model id. Use a different Idempotency-Key for each market.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-router/generate \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: recast-market-de-01" \
-d '{
"model": "h3-max-recast",
"video_url": "https://example.com/winning-ad.mp4",
"reference_image_urls": ["https://example.com/presenter-de.jpg"],
"resolution": "768p"
}'
Planning notes
Use consented photos of real people. The output keeps the original sound, so a language change needs a separate voice step: if the market needs a new voice, add TTS and a Timeline render ($0.02 a job), which cost a few cents more per version.
Test at 768p first. If six versions at $5.63 look right, only re-render the two hero markets at 1080p, which gives 4 × $5.63 + 2 × $8.44 = $39.40 in total.
