Holiday party booking promo: a menu plate over a clip for $0.02

Timeline compose overlays one still, such as a menu card, on a video for a flat $0.02 and up to 300 seconds. Here is the recipe for a party-booking promo.

To promote holiday party bookings, put a menu card over a clip of your dining room. Sume's Timeline compose does that for a flat $0.02 per job, with a ceiling of 300 seconds of output.

The Timeline compose docs describe two operations selected by the operation field: stack tiles the still and the video as two regions of one frame, and overlay places the still on top of the video as a plate.

The overlay settings

For a plate on a vertical clip, send operation: overlay with image.url (your menu card) and video.url (the clip). Both must already be hosted in your workspace. The layout keys for overlay are position (top, center or bottom), width_ratio (0.05 to 1, default 0.9) and margin_ratio (default 0.05). The plate keeps its aspect ratio.

margin_ratio0 to 0.45 of frame height0.05

The sequence

  • Import the menu card and the clip with media imports.
  • Compose the overlay: $0.02.
  • Optionally burn the booking line with a caption job using authored cues: $0.20.
  • Total: $0.22 for the finished promo.

What the still does

The still stays on screen for the whole clip and cannot make it longer; the output length comes from the video. Make the menu card readable at phone size: a few short lines and a date, not the full menu.
