Recraft V4 or Seedream 4.5: same $0.05, different limits on Sume
Recraft V4 and Seedream 4.5 both bill $0.05 per image on Sume. Seedream takes 10 references and PNG, JPEG or WebP; Recraft takes none, makes WebP, adds 21:9.

Pick Seedream 4.5 if you need reference images or a PNG or JPEG file; pick Recraft V4 if you need 21:9 or 9:21 and can take WebP. Both bill $0.05 per image on Sume, so the choice is about limits, not cost.
Facts below are from the Sume Image API docs and the live catalog (read 2026-10-03).
Side by side
A reference-image call to Recraft V4 is rejected, since the model lists none. If your pipeline needs a PNG or a JPEG for an email, Recraft V4 means a conversion step on your side.
| Item | Recraft V4 | Seedream 4.5 |
|---|---|---|
| Price per image | $0.05 | $0.05 |
| Reference images | 0 | 10 |
| Output format | webp only | png, jpeg, webp |
| 21:9 and 9:21 | yes | no |
| Images per call (n) | up to 4 | up to 4 |
Rule of thumb
Use Seedream 4.5 for anything that starts from a photo or must match a prior image: edits, variants, consistent characters. Use Recraft V4 for prompt-only work where the very wide or very tall frame matters.
Unsure which fits your prompts? Run ten prompts on each; that is 20 images, $1.00 in total.
