Recraft V4.1 Utility vs standard: which line for product mockups
Recraft's docs split V4.1 into standard and Utility lines, both $0.035. When flat, front-facing output helps, and what Sume's catalog lists today.

For product mockups, Recraft's own docs point at the Utility line of V4.1: it is described as simplified, front-facing compositions, and it costs the same $0.035 per image as the standard V4.1 model. Sume's docs list recraft/recraft-v4 in the Image API catalog, not the V4.1 Utility id, so on Sume you ask the listed Recraft model for a flat, front-facing result in the prompt instead of choosing a Utility variant.
Recraft's facts are from its V4.1 model page, read 2026-10-03. Sume's catalog id comes from the Image API docs.
What Recraft lists
The page names nine V4.1 variants: standard, Pro, Utility, Utility Pro, Vector, Vector Pro, Utility Vector, Utility Pro Vector and Flash. It gives a price and a typical time for several of them, and says V4.1 launched on May 14, 2026 and is available on all plan types, including Free.
| Variant | Price | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| V4.1 | $0.035 | 6.5s |
| V4.1 Utility | $0.035 | 8.5s |
| V4.1 Pro | $0.21 | 12s |
| V4.1 Flash | $0.007 | 1.3s |
| V4.1 Vector | $0.08 | 12s |
What to do on Sume
Sume's table of public ids has one Recraft row, recraft/recraft-v4. The catalog describes each row's inputs, so check whether it takes references before you plan an edit workflow. Then ask for the mockup look in words: plain backdrop, product centred and facing the camera, even lighting.
import os
import requests
key = os.environ["SUME_API_KEY"]
url = "https://api.sume.com/v1/images/models/recraft/recraft-v4/endpoints"
resp = requests.get(url, headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {key}"}, timeout=30)
resp.raise_for_status()
body = resp.json()
body = body.get("data", body)
for endpoint in body["endpoints"]:
for line in endpoint["pricing"]:
print(endpoint["provider_slug"], line["billable"], line["unit"], line["cost_usd"])
Limits
A prompt is not a variant: asking for flat lighting does not make the standard model behave like the Utility line, and this post has no test showing how close it gets. If predictable, front-facing results are the requirement, run a small batch on the listed model, compare it against your brief, and confirm in the catalog whether a Utility or V4.1 id has been added since this page was read.
