Qwen Image 2.1 Pro API: the model card lists no Pro variant

Searching for a Qwen Image 2.1 Pro API? The 2.1 model card names no Pro variant and no hosted endpoint. Here is what Sume lists for Qwen today.

There is no Qwen Image 2.1 Pro endpoint you can call today, as far as the vendor pages show. The Qwen-Image-2.1 model card on Hugging Face describes one open-weights model with 7B parameters in the visual generator, and it does not mention a Pro variant or a hosted API. On Sume you can call qwen/qwen-image and qwen/qwen-image-max, and neither one is labelled 2.1.

What the model card says

The card (fetched 2026-10-07) says Qwen-Image-2.1 generates regular or transparent RGBA images from text, edits transparent layers, extracts subjects from photographs, and takes up to 10 reference images for editing. It also notes that the model is not deployed by any Inference Provider. The license is the Qwen Research License Agreement, so read it before shipping the weights in a paid product.

If a post, chart or vendor listing names a "2.1 Pro" and you cannot find it on the card or on a provider page you can open, treat the name as unconfirmed. Do not pin a production id to it.

What Sume lists instead

Sume serves Qwen through its Image API. The catalog has two Qwen rows. The table below comes from the repo catalog and the docs; read GET /v1/images/models for the live values.

Qwen rows in the Sume image catalog, list prices before the Sume margin (read 2026-10-07)
Sume idEdit with reference photosList price per image
qwen/qwen-imageYes, up to 10$0.02
qwen/qwen-image-maxNo, text-to-image only$0.075

How to confirm a new Qwen id before you rely on it

Call the model list and look for the id. If the id is not in the list, it is not in the Sume catalog. Sume does not state which Qwen release sits behind each row, so test your own prompts instead of assuming 2.1 features such as native transparency.

  • Fetch the vendor model card and check the license line.
  • Search the Sume catalog for the exact id string.
  • Run 10 of your own prompts on the row you can call, with 4 takes each.
  • Record the model id in your job metadata so a later swap is traceable.
