Opus Clip Pro at $29 a month vs Sume at $0.22 a clip
Opus Clip Pro lists $29 a month with API access. Sume charges $0.02 to trim and $0.20 to caption a clip, so 100 clips cost $22.00 with no subscription.

Opus Clip Pro costs $29 a month and Sume costs $0.22 for each finished clip, so the cheaper option depends on how many clips you cut. At 100 clips a month Sume comes to $22.00, and from about 132 clips it passes Pro's $29. The two tools also do different jobs: OpusClip finds the moments for you, while Sume cuts and captions the range you hand it.
The OpusClip side comes from its pricing page, read on 2026-10-04. The page lists Pro at $29 a month and includes API access on that plan. I did not record a clip count per plan, so this post compares price structure and not cost per clip on their side.
Break-even
| Clips a month | Sume at $0.22 | OpusClip Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | $11.00 | $29 |
| 100 | $22.00 | $29 |
| 131 | $28.82 | $29 |
| 150 | $33.00 | $29 |
What a Sume clip costs
Sume bills each step as its own job. Video trim cuts a [start, end) range from one hosted clip for $0.02 per job, up to 1800 seconds of source and 900 seconds of output. Video captions burns styled captions for $0.20 per job on videos up to 60 seconds. That is $0.22 per clip.
| Step | Rate | Per 100 clips |
|---|---|---|
| Trim a range | $0.02 per job | $2.00 |
| Burn captions (60 s or less) | $0.20 per job | $20.00 |
| Trim plus captions | $0.22 | $22.00 |
Where the work moves
Choosing the moments is the part Sume does not do for you. Video inspect can return a transcript at $0.01 per audio minute, so you or your own script can read the words and pick ranges. Then each range is a trim call and a caption call.
If your volume is a handful of clips a week and you want the tool to pick them, a flat plan is the simpler purchase. If clips come from a script, a CMS or a calendar and you already know the timestamps, per-job pricing means a quiet month costs nothing.
A quick way to decide
- Under about 130 clips a month: Sume at $0.22 each is below $29.
- Need the API: Pro includes API access, and every Sume job is an API call from the first one.
- Need automatic moment detection: that is OpusClip's side of the table, not something to rebuild from trim and captions.
