Notta Pro 1,800 minutes, 5-hour files vs Sume STT 10-minute jobs
Notta Pro lists 1,800 monthly minutes and recordings up to 5 hours at $8.17 a month billed annually. Sume STT is $0.01 a minute in 600-second jobs.

Notta Pro lists 1,800 transcription minutes a month and up to 5 hours per recording for $8.17 a month billed annually, which is about $0.0045 a minute. Sume STT is $0.01 a minute, so the same 1,800 minutes cost $18.00, and each job is capped at 600 seconds. Notta is cheaper per minute and takes a long file whole; Sume needs long audio split into parts, but returns word timings you can build on.
Notta figures are from its pricing page, read 2026-10-03. The per-minute figure is my division.
The Notta limits
The page ties minutes, recording length and uploads to the plan.
| Plan | Price | Monthly minutes | Per recording | Uploads a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 120 | 3 minutes | 50 |
| Pro | $8.17 billed annually | 1,800 | 5 hours | 100 |
| Business | $16.67 billed annually | Unlimited | 5 hours | 200 |
Cost of the same minutes
Sume at $0.01 a minute: 120 minutes is $1.20, 1,800 minutes is $18.00. Notta Pro at the annual rate is $8.17 for 1,800 minutes. The subscription wins by $9.83 a month when you actually use the minutes; it loses when you use few, since $8.17 buys only 817 Sume minutes.
The 5-hour file against the 600-second job
A 5-hour recording is 18,000 seconds, which Sume handles as 30 jobs of 10 minutes costing $0.10 each, $3.00 in total. Your code has to cut the audio into parts at public HTTPS URLs and offset each part's word times. The method is in splitting long recordings.
If you need the file transcribed as one piece with no code on your side, Notta's limit is the easier path.
Five long recordings
Take five 5-hour workshop recordings in a month: 1,500 minutes. Notta Pro covers them inside its 1,800 minutes for $8.17 on annual billing, as five uploads. Sume would run 150 jobs of 10 minutes for $15.00, and you would write the splitting and the stitching. The price difference is $6.83; the larger difference is that one side needs code.
| Option | Cost | Units of work |
|---|---|---|
| Notta Pro, annual | $8.17 | 5 uploads |
| Sume STT | $15.00 | 150 jobs |
What Sume does and does not do
Speech to text on Sume is $0.01 per minute of audio, up to 600 seconds per job.
It does not offer a transcript editor, a meeting bot or translation add-ons like those Notta lists at $6 and $9 a month. Word timings are always returned, and sentence segments are available on request.
