MiniMax H3 Max: five free fal runs a day, then the Sume cost per clip

fal's page offers five free H3 Max generations a day of up to 15 seconds. Use them to test a prompt, then price the paid clip on Sume at 480p, 768p or 1080p.

Use fal's free H3 Max runs to test the prompt, then budget the paid clip on Sume: a 15-second H3 Max clip at 768p is $1.50 and at 1080p is $3.00. The free allowance lives on fal's page, not in the Sume API, so it does not change what a Sume job costs.

What fal says

fal's MiniMax H3 Max page, read 2026-10-05, says you can sign in and run the model in the fal sandbox for five generations a day of up to 15 seconds each, with synchronized audio, and that the allowance resets on a rolling 24-hour window. The same page lists 480p at $0.05 per second, 768p at $0.08 and 1080p at $0.16, for 5 to 15 seconds, and says a 75% launch discount ended on September 14, 2026.

Sume bills H3 Max at the list price times 1.25. The row takes text-to-video, first and last frame image-to-video and reference-to-video, with native stereo audio and no audio toggle, per the Video Router docs.

Cost of the paid clip on Sume

These are the Sume prices for the lengths you are most likely to promote from a free test, rounded up to the cent per job.

MiniMax H3 Max on Sume, billable price per clip, read 2026-10-05
Length480p ($0.0625/s)768p ($0.10/s)1080p ($0.20/s)
5 s$0.32$0.50$1.00
10 s$0.63$1.00$2.00
15 s$0.94$1.50$3.00

A sensible test loop

  • Run the five free generations on fal to settle the prompt, camera move and first frame.
  • Submit the winner to Sume at 480p, 5 seconds ($0.32) to check composition and audio in your own pipeline.
  • Re-run the same prompt at 768p or 1080p for the final. 1080p on H3 Max is a latent refinement of a native 768p render, so compare it with the 768p take before paying double.
  • Keep an Idempotency-Key per shot so a retry does not create a second paid job.

What the free runs do not tell you

A free fal run does not validate your Sume request. H3 Max accepts 5 to 15 seconds only, so a 3-second or 20-second ask returns a 400 on Sume. Check supported_durations in the catalog, and remember that a take on fal and a take on Sume are different generations: Sume exposes no seed, so you cannot reproduce a result by seed.
