Merchant Center video_link: 6-240 s, 500 MB, raw file URL

The Merchant Center video_link attribute needs 6-240 s, 720p, 500 MB and a raw-file URL. Which Sume video outputs meet each limit, and which need a join.

The video_link attribute takes a video of 6 to 240 seconds, at least 720p, in 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1, up to 500 MB, at a public URL that points straight at the file. A Sume avatar video at 720p with a 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 aspect ratio meets the resolution and ratio rules, and its result is a public media.sume.com file; the duration and size still need a check.

Google's holiday shopping post (2026-09-16) tells merchants to "use video link attribute for shoppable ad formats". The spec below is from the Merchant Center page, read 2026-09-30. Sume facts are from Avatar videos, Video Router and Video trim.

What does video_link require?

Which Sume outputs meet each limit?

Compare the docs side by side. Nothing here is a promise about a specific render; check the file you get.

What if my clip is too short or too long?

Auto clips are 3 to 10 seconds, so a 4-second clip fails the 6-second floor; request 6 seconds or longer, or join clips as in assemble long-form video with Timeline. In the other direction, Video trim cuts a length of 0.2 to 900 seconds, so it can bring a long render down to the 240-second ceiling. The 500 MB cap has no Sume control: the docs give no byte target, so check the size of the file you receive.

What URL do I put in the feed?

Use the file URL from the finished run. A Format run reads back with a direct artifact URL such as https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_…/full_video.mp4 and content_type: "video/mp4". That is a raw file, not a page, which is what the spec asks for. Add up to 10 such URLs per product, and see product video still for Merchant Center video frames for the image side.
