MAI-Voice-2.1 is public preview, no SLA: plan ad voiceover around it

Microsoft's MAI-Voice-2.1 doc says public preview, no SLA. What that means for a campaign deadline, and how to keep a fallback voice ready.

Microsoft's MAI-Voice-2.1 documentation marks the model as public preview with no service level agreement, so a campaign that must ship on a date should not depend on it alone. Keep a second voice source and save every approved take as a file.

What the page says

The Learn page says preview, no SLA, and notes Microsoft holds full licensing rights for commercial use. The model page lists $22 and $15 per million characters. Preview terms can change, so re-read before each campaign.

Build the fallback early

A fallback is only useful if its voice is auditioned in advance. Pick one for each language and render the hero line in both. On Sume, a job is idempotent by key and capped by max_spend_usd, so a rerun does not double charge (API reference).

Honest limits

Sume TTS is a different voice, not a drop-in clone of a Microsoft voice. Switching mid-campaign changes how the brand sounds, so decide up front whether that is acceptable. We make no claim about Sume's uptime beyond its docs.
