On Luma, Kling 3.0 at 2160p (4K) is 147 credits per second whether audio is on or off. At 1080p the audio switch matters: 40 credits per second without audio, 49 with. A 5-second 4K clip is 735 credits, or $2.205 at the Plus rate of $0.003 per credit.

Credit figures are from Luma's pricing page, read 2026-10-01; dollars are our arithmetic.

Why is 4K the same with audio on?

The page does not say. It lists the same 147 on both rows, so on Luma the audio decision is free at 4K and a surcharge below it. Do not infer the reason; use the table.

How does this map to Sume?

Sume's video submit has generate_audio, a boolean that defaults to the model's audio capability, and the catalog from GET /v1/videos/models reports each model's supported resolutions and durations (see Video generation). Which Kling resolutions your workspace sees is a catalog read; the 4K specifics are in Kling 3.0 4K API.

Video jobs reserve on submit at provider list price multiplied by 1.25, with usage.cost as the Sume billable amount. Sume states USD, so there is no credit table to convert.

What should I do when choosing audio?

At 4K on Luma, leave audio on if you want it; at 1080p, the 9-credit difference per second is about $0.027 on Plus. For the same question priced elsewhere, see Kling 3 audio on or off.
