Longest single avatar video by plan: HeyGen, Colossyan, Sume
HeyGen caps video at 1, 30 or 60 minutes by plan, Colossyan at 20 or 30 minutes. Sume Avatar 1.0 takes 4 to 60 seconds a job. What to do when yours is longer.
Maximum length per video on the vendor pages read 2026-10-08: HeyGen 1 minute (Free), 30 minutes (Creator and Pro), 60 minutes (Business) and unlimited (Enterprise); Colossyan 20 minutes (Starter) and 30 minutes (Professional). Sume Avatar 1.0 accepts 4 to 60 seconds in one job. For anything longer on Sume you split the script into jobs and join the clips.
The gap is a factor of 30 at the 30-minute tier, so it should drive the choice for long-form work.
The caps
Neither vendor page says whether a long render is billed at a different rate. Credits and included minutes are the limit that applies in practice, so a 30-minute video may use the whole month's allowance on a small plan.
| Plan | Maximum video length |
|---|---|
| HeyGen Free | 1 minute |
| HeyGen Creator and Pro | 30 minutes |
| HeyGen Business | 60 minutes |
| HeyGen Enterprise | Unlimited |
| Colossyan Starter | 20 minutes |
| Colossyan Professional | 30 minutes |
| Sume Avatar 1.0 | 4 to 60 seconds estimated, per job |
What 5 minutes costs on Sume
Five minutes is 300 seconds, so five jobs of 60 seconds. Standard is $55.20, Plus $73.50, Max $165.00. Ten minutes doubles that. Each job needs the same avatar handle and the same scene so the presenter stays consistent, and a join step stitches the files; the 3-minute example shows the cost of that step.
Cut points matter. End each 60-second job at a sentence boundary, because a cut mid-sentence will be audible after joining.
When the cap decides it
Choose a long-form editor if the deliverable is a 15-minute walkthrough in one file. Choose Sume if the deliverable is a series of short clips, social posts or API-generated per-customer messages, where 60 seconds is already long. The two can coexist: a long editor video for the course, short Sume clips for the promotion around it.
