LinkedIn 1:1, 4:5 and 9:16 video ads: three Sume renders for $0.30

Three LinkedIn feed ratios need three renders: 1080x1080, 1080x1350 and 1080x1920. Each is one timeline minute at $0.10 for a 30-second ad, $0.30 in all.

Rendering a 30-second ad in LinkedIn's three non-landscape ratios takes three timeline renders and costs $0.30, or $0.90 if you also burn captions on each. The sizes are 1080x1080 for 1:1, 1080x1350 for 4:5 and 1080x1920 for 9:16. All three sit at or inside LinkedIn's stated maximums of 1920x1920, 1080x1350 and 1080x1920 (LinkedIn page, read 2026-10-09).

The three renders

Each render is a separate timeline document with its own output size. The audio spine and the clips can be identical. Sume prices each render by output length, not by size.

4:51080x1350360x450 to 1080x1350$0.10
9:161080x1920360x640 to 1080x1920$0.10
Total3 renders3 x $0.10 = $0.30

Note the 4:5 limit

LinkedIn's 4:5 maximum is 1080x1350, so 1080x1350 is exactly at the ceiling and a larger size is outside the page's range. The page recommends 720x900 for 4:5. If you prefer to follow the recommendations, use 720x900, 720x1280 and a square of your choice, such as 720x720. All are even, so Sume accepts them, and the price does not change.

The fit setting decides the crop

Each slot in the timeline has a fit: cover (default) crops to fill, contain letterboxes, stretch distorts and blur fills the bars with a blurred copy. If your source is already 9:16, cover into 1:1 and 4:5 crops the top and bottom. If it is 16:9, the vertical renders crop the sides sharply. Check the result frame before you upload, because a centered crop can cut off a face or a product.

For a more controlled crop, use video filter crop first, with fractions of the source frame, then put the cropped clip in the timeline. That adds $0.02 per crop job. The crop fractions post lists the fractions for LinkedIn's ratios.

Captions per ratio

Burned captions sit in the frame, so each ratio needs its own caption job if you want the text placed for that shape. A caption job costs $0.20 for videos of up to 60 seconds, so three of them add $0.60. The total for three renders and three caption jobs is 3 x ($0.10 + $0.20) = $0.90.

Do not forget the frame rate. LinkedIn's page requires under 30 FPS; set output.fps to 24 or 25 in all three bodies. See the frame rate post.
