Jazz cafe music for a 30-minute screen loop: about $3 on Sume
One $0.125 jazz track plus a 30-minute Timeline render with soundtrack loop is $3.125. How to brief it, loop it, and fade it, with the 1,800 s cap.

A 30-minute jazz cafe loop costs about $3.125 on Sume: one music generation at $0.125 plus a 30-minute Timeline render at $0.10 per output minute, which is $3.00. Timeline's audio.duration_seconds accepts 1 to 1,800, so 30 minutes is the ceiling for one render, and the soundtrack block has a loop flag so a short track repeats under the whole span. Prices come from the Music Router and Timeline docs.
Brief the track to loop
Ask for a track a loop will not expose: steady mid-tempo, upright bass, brushed drums, soft piano, no solos and no big ending. Lyria songs run "a couple of minutes" per Google's music generation page, read on 2026-10-05, controllable through the prompt. Ask for a gentle, even arrangement and an ending that returns to the opening chord, so the loop point is less audible.
Cost table
| Item | Quantity | Unit price | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Music generation | 1 | $0.125 | $0.125 |
| Timeline render | 30 output minutes | $0.10 per minute | $3.00 |
| Total | $3.125 |
Settings to set
Set loop true, gain_db low enough that the loop is background, and fade_out_seconds for the end of the long render; the limit is 10 seconds, and a fade longer than the output returns soundtrack_fade_exceeds_output. For a screen loop that never ends in practice, loop the 30-minute file in the player. If you need an even longer run, one render still tops out at 1,800 seconds.
Run the unbilled POST /v1/timeline-1.0/plan first. A long render can outlast the default 30-second sync wait, in which case you get a 202 and poll the job until it finishes. The video slots still have to cover the span you want, so plan the picture first: a looping still or a short clip repeated across slots is enough, and the music is the part that changes the feel of the room.
