Is there a Sume volume discount? Top-ups, one rate, custom terms
Sume has no self-serve volume tiers. Top-ups run $10 to $1,000 at the published rate for every model, and larger organizations can ask for custom volume terms.

Not as a self-serve tier. Sume bills usage at each model's published rate, and wallet top-ups run from **$10 to $1,000**. A bigger top-up does not change the rate per second, per image or per character. Larger organizations can contact Sume about custom volume terms.
What stays the same as you scale
The pricing FAQ says usage is billed at each model's published USD rate, with one balance for generation, the agent, Formats and the API. The plans differ in access and concurrency, not in unit prices: Pro is $40 per month with concurrency 4, Startup $120 with 8, and Scale $400 with 20.
| Lever | Changes the unit price? |
|---|---|
| Top-up size ($10 to $1,000) | No |
| Pro, Startup or Scale plan | No, it changes access and concurrency |
| Yearly instead of monthly billing | Changes the plan fee, not usage rates |
| Custom volume terms | Can, by agreement |
Where a discount would apply
The charge formula has a customer-discount step: list, minus discount, then x1.25, then the 5.5% fee. For most accounts the discount is zero. Custom terms use that step, so a negotiated discount is visible on the usage row rather than hidden in an invoice.
The fee can also be removed on explicit all-zero price-book rows, which is how a specific SKU can be set to no fee.
What to do if your volume is high
Estimate monthly spend using list x 1.31875. If it is large enough that a few percent matters, contact Sume with the spend and the models you use. If it is not, top up in the amount that matches a month and read GET /v1/balance to track it.
Do not expect a stacked discount from the plan plus a bigger top-up. Neither exists today.
Top-ups and the balance
A top-up adds dollars to the one balance that pays for generation, the agent, Formats and the API. You can read it with GET /v1/balance and see each top-up, reservation, capture and refund in GET /v1/usage.
Because the rate does not depend on the size of the top-up, there is no reason to top up more than you plan to use in order to save money. Top up in the amount that fits the period you are budgeting.
What the Free plan does and does not do
The Free plan covers image generation only. Video needs a paid plan. That is an access rule, not a discount: an image costs the same published rate on every plan.
