"The Facebook account linked to the Instagram account is restricted and cannot publish video" is a new Content Publishing error listed in the Sep 28, 2026 changelog. The message says video is blocked because of a restriction on the linked Facebook account. Nothing in the file you upload will change that; resolve the restriction on the Facebook side.

Details are from the Instagram platform changelog, read 2026-09-30. The page does not say how long a restriction lasts or how to appeal it.

What else did the changelog add?

New publishing errors in the Meta changelog dated 2026-09-28, read 2026-09-30.

Can I post stills while video is blocked?

The error names video, so an image post is a different case, but the page does not say image publishing is unaffected; test it. Sume video frames extracts stills from a clip as jpeg (default) or png, with max_edge from 16 to 2160 (Video frames). Instagram's own still format rules are in JPEG-only stills from video frames.

What does it cost to extract frames?

Frame extraction is unbilled in the docs. If you want a fresh product image instead, the image edit example keeps the product identical while swapping the background (Image 1.0). A carousel built from clip frames is covered in Instagram carousel from video frames.
