Ideogram 4.5 1K or 2K? Same list price, so pick by delivery size
On Sume, Ideogram 4.5 takes resolution 1K or 2K, and the documented list price depends on quality, not size. Choose 2K when the file will be viewed large.

ideogram/ideogram-v4.5 accepts resolution: "1K" or "2K" on Sume, and the docs say the list price is set by quality (low, medium or high) for all sizes. So 2K does not cost more than 1K at the same quality. Choose by where the image will be used, then spend your decision on quality.
What the docs list
Sume's image docs give Fal list prices of $0.03, $0.06 and $0.22 per image for low, medium and high, for all sizes. If you omit quality, Sume sends medium. Sume sells at list times 1.25, and the endpoint pricing lines already include that margin, so read the live number from the endpoints call.
| Field | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|
| quality | low, medium, high | medium |
| resolution | 1K, 2K | not required |
| aspect_ratio | 1:3, 3:1, 1:2, 2:1, 9:16, 16:9, 10:16, 16:10, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 1:1 | source shape on an edit with no ratio |
| input_references | 0 to 5 | first image is the one edited |
| output_format | provider-selected | n/a |
When 2K is worth asking for
Ask for 2K when text will be read close up: posters, packaging mockups, slides shown on a large screen, or anything you will crop into. For feeds and thumbnails, 1K is already larger than the display. Since the price does not change, the only cost of 2K is a bigger file and a possibly slower job, so keep an eye on the 30 second wait.

With references, Ideogram 4.5 edits the first image and uses up to four more as references. An edit without aspect_ratio keeps the shape of the source image. Read Ideogram 4.5 size source for the shape rules.
A simple rule
Draft at quality: low, 1K. When the layout is right, rerun the same prompt at the final quality and 2K. Because the quality tier drives the price, you stop paying for pixels you do not need, and the long-edit questions are covered in the ten-edit chain post.
