Hy Image 3.5 Preview footnote watermark: 16 characters, none on Sume
Tencent's Hy Image 3.5 Preview can print a custom footnote of up to 16 characters in the lower right. Sume has no watermark field; how to add one yourself.

Hy Image 3.5 Preview can stamp a custom watermark through the footnote field: up to 16 characters, counted by UTF-8 rune, placed in the lower right of the image. Hy Image 3.5 Preview is not listed in the Sume image catalog (read 2026-10-09). The Sume image request has no watermark field, so stamp the file yourself after you download it.
What does Tencent document?
The 3.5 and 3.0 pages both carry the field, with the same limit and corner.
| Model | Field | Limit | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hy Image 3.5 Preview | footnote | 16 characters (utf8 rune count) | lower right |
| Hy Image 3.0 | footnote | 16 characters | lower right |
How do I add a watermark on Sume output?
Download the file, then draw the text with your imaging tool. The result URL on Sume is a signed link, and the docs do not promise a lifetime for images, so save the file as soon as the call finishes.
Stamp after any crop or resize, so the label is never trimmed, and keep it inside a margin of a few percent of the width.
- Keep the original, unstamped file.
- Test the label on a dark and a light picture.
Which listed rows fit a branded workflow?
Any row; none of them stamp. If the brand mark must be inside the picture rather than on top, put it in the prompt and check the result on every image. Rows and limits are in the image models docs.
Is a footnote the same as C2PA or metadata?
No. The footnote is a visible mark. Tencent's page documents only the visible mark.
A watermark you add yourself has one advantage: you choose the font, the size and the position, and you can change the label without paying for a new generation. The disadvantage is one more step in the pipeline, so make it a function that every output goes through, and run it on a test image before the first batch.
