How many AI videos has TikTok labeled? 37 million to 3 billion

TikTok's newsroom gives three numbers: 37 million creators used its label tool by May 2024, 1.3 billion videos labeled by Nov 2025, over 3 billion by July 2026.

TikTok has published three counts. In May 2024 it said more than 37 million creators had used its AI label tool since the previous fall; in November 2025 it said it had labeled over 1.3 billion videos; and in July 2026 it said it had labeled over 3 billion videos as AI-generated content using Content Credentials, creator labeling tools, and invisible watermarking. The first counts creators; the other two count videos.

Do not divide one by another. They measure different things and TikTok does not publish a per-day or per-account breakdown.

The three numbers in order

What changed in how labels are made

The 2023 post introduced the creator label and began testing automatic labels. The May 2024 post says TikTok became the first video sharing platform to implement C2PA Content Credentials for automatic labeling. The November 2025 post adds labels that show their source and a test of an AI-generated content control in Manage Topics.

The July 2026 post reports TikTok joined the C2PA Steering Committee and adds spam-detection tests.

What it means for a team making AI video

More videos are being labeled by detection, not only by creators, so assume an unlabeled AI clip can get a label anyway. Setting the AI-generated content toggle yourself puts the label on your terms.

Sume returns MP4 files and does not publish them, so the disclosure step is yours. A one-line record per video (job id, post date, toggle on) costs nothing. The numbers also show how common the labels are.

How to read the growth

From 1.3 billion in November 2025 to over 3 billion in July 2026 is a jump of roughly 1.7 billion labeled videos in about eight months, but the counts are cumulative and the posts count different things, so treat the arithmetic as a rough gauge and not a rate.

Check the newsroom for a newer figure before you quote any of these, say "TikTok reported" with the date, and avoid turning the numbers into a share of all videos, since TikTok does not publish a total to divide by.
