Does Sume Auto use GPT Image 2.5? What sume/auto picks for images
Sume's docs say Auto image routing continues to use Flare, GPT Image 2.5. Sume never says which family ran on a call, so pin openai/gpt-image-2.5 if it matters.

Sume's Image API docs say "Auto model routing continues to use Flare", the ChatGPT Image 2.5 model, but Sume also says sume/auto never discloses which family ran. So sume/auto can be treated as Flare-routed per the docs, yet the response will not confirm it: job.model stays sume/auto. If you need to know, name openai/gpt-image-2.5.
From Sume's Image API docs and Image 1.0 pages, read 2026-09-29.
What does sume/auto return?
| Item | Behavior |
|---|---|
model in the request | sume/auto |
model in the response | Stays sume/auto |
Listed in GET /v1/images/models | No |
| Chosen family disclosed | No |
| Image 1.0 URLs | Compatibility aliases for this Auto pipe; retiring soon |
When should I pin a model instead?
Pin when you need Sunburst rather than Flare, when you use mask_url or background, or when you need to reproduce a result later. Send the id you want:
curl -X POST "https://api.sume.com/v1/images" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"model": "openai/gpt-image-2.5-sunburst",
"prompt": "a paper crane on a wooden desk"
}'Are the Image 1.0 URLs the same as Auto?
Yes. The docs say Image 1.0 is retiring soon and its public URLs remain compatibility aliases for the Auto pipe. New integrations should call POST /v1/images.
