Gemini Omni in YouTube Create: countries, length and limits

Gemini Omni in the YouTube Create app generates vertical video clips up to 10 seconds long, on mobile devices in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the United States. Google's YouTube Help page calls these AI features experimental and says they are available to a limited number of creators in select countries.

What can Gemini Omni do in YouTube Create?

Google's steps, in order: enter a text prompt (or tap a suggested one), optionally upload reference images, pick lighting, describe the audio, then tap Generate and Use Video to add the clip to the timeline.

Do the 18+ and English or Hindi rules apply?

Not to the video feature, as Google words it. On the same Help page, the note that the feature is for users over 18 with prompts in English or Hindi sits under the Nano Banana image feature, while the Gemini Omni video note says prompts are available in all languages. Read the current Help page for your account before relying on either.

Can I change a clip after it is generated?

In the app, yes in the sense of regenerating: Google says to select the generated video in the editor timeline, tap Edit Generation to go back to the prompt screen with your original text and images filled in, update the prompt or reference images, and tap Generate again. That is a fresh generation from an edited prompt, not a per-frame edit. On Sume, editing an existing clip is a separate request that takes a video_url; see Edit a video with a prompt.

Does YouTube label the clips?

The Help page says labels clearly indicate to viewers that the content is synthetic, and that all content on YouTube, including AI-generated content made with YouTube Create, must follow the Community Guidelines. It also says it may not accept prompts that violate its policies or touch on sensitive topics.

How do I get a 9:16 clip from Sume?

Set aspect_ratio to 9:16 on POST /v1/videos. Sume's docs give the model 3–10 second clips with native synced audio always on, so a 10-second vertical clip is within range. This is a separate product from YouTube Create: nothing here posts to YouTube, and Sume's docs do not describe the app's lighting presets.
