Omni Flash defaults to 720p and 16:9: set both on every request
Google's Omni docs default to 720p and 16:9; Sume's Auto defaults to 720p and 8 seconds. Why to send resolution, ratio and duration every time, with prices.

Google's Omni page lists 720p as the default resolution and 16:9 as the default aspect ratio (Google Omni docs, read 2026-10-09), and its video guide says to use Omni Flash as the default video model (Google video guide). On Sume, sume/auto also defaults to 720p and 8 seconds. Send resolution, aspect_ratio and duration yourself so a default never decides your bill.
What are the defaults, side by side?
| Setting | Google Omni | Sume Auto / Omni row |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution | 720p | 720p |
| Aspect ratio | 16:9 | 16:9 or 9:16, pick one |
| Length | Not stated on the Omni page | 8 seconds on Auto, 3 to 10 allowed |
| Audio | Not stated on the Omni page | Always on, cannot be disabled |
What does a forgotten default cost?
Omni on Sume bills $0.0375 (360p), $0.125 (720p), $0.1875 (1080p) and $0.375 (4K) per output second. An 8-second default clip at 720p is $1.00. If you meant a 10-second 4K final, the bill is $3.75 instead, and an 8-second 360p test would be $0.30. The default only protects you if it is the one you want.
What should a safe request carry?
The video generation docs say a replay with the same key returns the original job, and that the balance is reserved at submit. Check the reserve against your balance before a large batch.
model: a pinned id such asgemini-omni-flash-1.1, orsume/autoif you accept Sume choosing.resolution: one of 360p, 720p, 1080p, 4K.aspect_ratio:16:9or9:16only.duration: whole seconds, 3 to 10.- An
Idempotency-Keyheader so a retry replays the original job.
Does the default affect edits?
For an edit with video_url, resolution is optional and defaults to 720p, and aspect_ratio and duration are not sent, per the Video Router docs. The output keeps the source framing.
