Veo 3.1 Lite in Flow: 10 credits, 5 on Ultra. How many drafts?

Flow's credits page prices Veo 3.1 Lite at 10 credits, or 5 for Ultra. What that buys per plan, and a cheap draft step before you spend on a final.

On Flow, Veo 3.1 Lite costs 10 credits per generation, or 5 credits for Ultra subscribers, per Google's credits page. That makes 5 Lite drafts out of the free 50 daily credits, or 10 if you are on the Ultra price.

The figures below come from Google's Flow credits help page, read 2026-10-02. Prices can change, so check the page before you plan a week of work.

What does each Flow plan buy in Lite drafts?

Everyone gets 50 credits a day, and unused daily credits do not roll over. Monthly plan credits are added on top and also do not roll over. The table divides the plan credits by the Lite price; it ignores the daily 50 and assumes every generation succeeds.

Google's page lists two Ultra plans. It states the Lite price as 5 credits for Ultra subscribers; I take that to cover both Ultra plans, but confirm in Flow.

Why use Lite as a draft step?

Lite is the cheapest Veo tier on Flow. For the Gemini API, Google's pricing page lists Veo 3.1 Lite at $0.05 per second at 720p and $0.08 at 1080p, against $0.10 and $0.12 for Fast and $0.40 for Standard at the same 720p/1080p tiers (video with audio). A draft tells you whether the prompt and framing work before you spend on a heavier tier.

Drafts are for composition: subject, camera move, pacing. They are weak evidence about fine detail, so judge the final tier separately.

What does the same draft step look like on Sume?

Sume's catalog is not Flow's, so the credit prices do not carry over. The Sume equivalent is a low-resolution Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 clip: the Video Router lists it at 3-10 seconds with 360p, 720p, 1080p and 4K, and bills provider list times 1.25 per output second by resolution. Check the live GET /v1/videos/models row for the exact rate rather than assuming one.

Run the draft at 360p, then re-run the approved prompt at 1080p.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/videos \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: draft-lamp-360p" \
  -d '{
    "model": "gemini-omni-flash-1.1",
    "prompt": "A ceramic lamp on a wooden desk, slow push-in, morning light",
    "resolution": "360p",
    "aspect_ratio": "16:9",
    "duration": 4
  }'

What is the catch?

A different model is a different draft. A Veo Lite draft on Flow does not predict an Omni Flash final on Sume, and the reverse is also true. Draft and final on the same model, and use a new Idempotency-Key for the final so it is not treated as a retry of the draft.

Sume does not offer a free daily allowance like Flow's 50 credits; every job reserves balance when submitted.
