Fabric vendor $0.15 per second is $0.1875 on Sume: five lengths
fal lists VEED Fabric 1.0 at $0.15 per second (720p) and $0.08 (480p). Sume bills list x 1.25: $0.1875 and $0.10. Prices at 4, 8, 12, 20 and 30 seconds.

Sume bills VEED Fabric 1.0 at $0.1875 per audio second at 720p and $0.10 at 480p, which is the provider list price times 1.25 (as of 2026-10-09). fal's own Fabric page lists $0.08 per second at 480p and $0.15 per second at 720p (read 2026-10-09). The 25 percent difference is Sume's margin, and the comparison below shows what it comes to in dollars at five lengths.
The comparison
Direct provider access means you manage an account, keys and quota with the vendor. Sume gives you one API key, one balance and the same job lifecycle as every other Sume model. The table shows what you pay for that convenience, per length.
| Seconds | fal 720p ($0.15) | Sume 720p ($0.1875) | fal 480p ($0.08) | Sume 480p ($0.10) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | $0.60 | $0.750 | $0.32 | $0.40 |
| 8 | $1.20 | $1.500 | $0.64 | $0.80 |
| 12 | $1.80 | $2.250 | $0.96 | $1.20 |
| 20 | $3.00 | $3.750 | $1.60 | $2.00 |
| 30 | $4.50 | $5.625 | $2.40 | $3.00 |
A monthly view
For 500 clips of 12 seconds a month at 720p, the vendor list gives 500 x 12 x 0.15 = $900.00, and Sume's price gives 500 x 12 x 0.1875 = $1,125.00. The 25 percent difference is $225.00 a month. At 480p, 500 x 12 x 0.08 = $480.00 against $600.00, a difference of $120.00.
These figures leave out everything else you would build to run the vendor directly. Whether the convenience is worth the margin depends on how many other models you use. If Fabric is the only thing you call, the comparison above is the whole story.
Reading the gap
At 30 seconds the 720p gap is 30 x (0.1875 - 0.15) = $1.125. At 4 seconds it is $0.15. For a pipeline that mixes image, speech, music and video, the combined savings from not running separate vendor accounts, retry logic and webhooks are for you to weigh. The point of this page is only the arithmetic: it is a flat 25 percent.
The fal page lists accepted file formats: jpg, jpeg, png, webp, gif, avif, heic and heif for images, and mp3, ogg, wav, m4a and aac for audio. On Sume the audio_url for Fabric must be Sume-hosted and no larger than 10 MB, which is a different input rule from the vendor's.
Prices on both sides change. Recheck the vendor page and the Sume catalog before you build a budget, and note the date you read each.
To summarize the arithmetic in one line each: 720p is 0.15 x 1.25 = 0.1875 and 480p is 0.08 x 1.25 = 0.10. Multiply by the audio seconds and compare with your own estimate of the time you would spend on a direct vendor integration.
- Sume price check: the public catalog lists estimates without a key.
- A page of vendor prices can change; the table is dated.
- The same 25 percent applies to H3 Max Lip Sync: $0.08 list at 768p becomes $0.10.
