Dry January 2027 menu video: four alcohol-free drinks, $2.94
Dry January starts Fri Jan 1, 2027. A bar or bottle shop can announce an alcohol-free menu in 20 seconds with four Wan 3.0 clips, music, voice and captions.

A bar, cafe or bottle shop can announce a Dry January menu with a 20-second video of four alcohol-free drinks: four 5-second Wan 3.0 clips at 720p, a short music bed, a 350-character voice-over and one caption job. On Sume that costs about $2.94. Dry January means abstaining from alcohol during January; Alcohol Change UK formalized the campaign in 2013, per Wikipedia (read 2026-10-11), and January 1, 2027 is a Friday.
Most January promotions are gym offers and diet plans. A venue that sells drinks has a different customer: the person who still wants to go out on a Friday and wants to order something that is not an apology. The video should show that the menu exists and what is on it.
What belongs in the four clips?
One drink per clip, each with the name and the price burned in as text rather than left to the video model. Shoot or collect one clean photo per drink and use it as the first frame of a Wan 3.0 image-to-video job. Typical motions: a pour, ice settling, a garnish landing, condensation.
Name the drinks as drinks. Avoid health claims such as detox, cleanse, or any claim about benefits of abstaining; the video is a menu, not advice. If a drink is described as alcohol-free, make sure the label on your actual product says what you say.
What does it cost?
Wan 3.0 at 720p is $0.125 per second at Sume's catalog rate, so four 5-second clips are $2.50. One Music Router generation is $0.125. A 350-character voice-over at $0.0475 per 1,000 characters is about $0.0166. Timeline 1.0 is $0.10 for the 20-second render, and a caption job with authored cues is a flat $0.20. The total is $2.9416, shown as $2.94.
Switch the four clip lines to 480p ($0.0625 a second, $1.25 for 20 seconds) to draft the whole thing for $1.69 before you commit to the 720p version.
| Line | Quantity | Rate | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wan 3.0 clips, 720p, 5 s each | 20 s | $0.125 / s | $2.50 |
| Music Router generation | 1 | $0.125 | $0.125 |
| Voice-over | 350 characters | $0.0475 / 1,000 | $0.0166 |
| Timeline render (1 started minute) | 1 | $0.10 | $0.10 |
| Caption cues, one job | 1 | $0.20 | $0.20 |
| Total | $2.94 |
Where does it fit in the calendar?
New Year's Eve is the busy night, and January 1 is a day when many venues are closed. Post the video in the last week of December so the menu is the first thing a regular sees in their feed on the first day of the month, and keep it pinned through January.
If you add a second wave in the middle of the month, only the clip lines change; the voice, music and render stay.
How do I keep the prices right?
Prices live in the caption cues, not in the generated pictures, so a change is a $0.20 re-burn. Run the Timeline plan first: it is unbilled and returns the segment count (four) and billable minutes (one) so you know the render is what you expect.
