Downloaded Reel lost its music? Rebuild the bed with Sume Music Router

Instagram says a downloaded reel won't keep library music. Detach the voice, generate a bed with Music Router, and mix them in Timeline with ducking.

Instagram's Reels page says that downloading a reel will not save music added from the Instagram music library (read 2026-10-03). If you keep an original copy for reuse, the sound bed is therefore gone and only voice or original audio remains. You can rebuild a bed instead of relicensing the track: detach the voice with Sume's audio detach, generate new music with Music Router, and mix both in Timeline. This gives you a different track, not the same song.

The three steps

Detach pulls the audio of the downloaded clip to a durable file (audio detach, $0.01). Music Router generates a bed from a prompt, fixed at $0.125 per generation, and offers sume/music-auto, lyria-3.5 and lyria-3-pro. Timeline then takes the music as a soundtrack with gain_db and duck_db, which lowers the music while the main audio speaks.

Two limits to plan around

Music Router takes a prompt of 1 to 5,000 characters and has no duration field, so describe length and mood in the prompt and trim in Timeline. Ducking needs a real spine: with only silence under the music, the duck has nothing to follow.

Instagram's page defines the audio types it offers: original audio, licensed music from its library, and voiceover. Nothing here changes what Instagram will recommend. Check any platform labeling or rights rules for your account separately.
