A dog groomer can turn one finished-groom photo into a 6-second vertical clip with Wan 3.0 image-to-video, and at 720p that clip costs $0.75 on Sume. Add a $0.125 music track and a holiday booking reminder costs under a dollar before you post it.

Groomers sell out of December slots early because people book before family visits and photos. The useful ad is not a polished commercial. It is a reminder that says slots exist, with a clean picture of a dog that looks good. Starting from your own photo keeps the dog recognizable, which matters more than cinematic movement.

Start from the photo, not from text

Text-to-video invents a dog. Image-to-video starts from your photo as the first frame, so the coat, breed and bandana stay yours. In the Video Generation docs, Wan 3.0 accepts image-to-video with durations from 2 to 30 seconds and the aspect ratios auto, adaptive, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16. Pick 9:16 for a story or reel.

The image URL must be reachable by the provider, so use a public HTTPS link. Keep the prompt about motion only: a slow head turn, a tail wag, a bit of light across the coat. The existing post on writing the motion, not the photo covers the prompt habit in detail.

  • Use a sharp photo with the dog facing camera and a plain background.
  • Ask for one small movement. Big motion makes dogs morph.
  • Leave the booking details to the caption text of your post, not the video.

What it costs

Sume prices Wan 3.0 per second at the provider list price times 1.25. From the docs and rate card (read 2026-10-10): 480p is $0.0625 per second, 720p $0.125, and 1080p $0.25.

Three alternative grooms for A/B tests at 6 seconds and 720p come to 3 x $0.75 = $2.25. Add one track at $0.125 and the whole test costs $2.375, so about $2.38.

Add a music bed

The Music Router charges $0.125 per track whichever model it picks and has no duration field, so ask for a short bright bed in the prompt. Keep it instrumental and trim it under the clip. Nothing in the dog clip needs a voice.

A simple December posting plan

Groomers rarely need a campaign. They need three nudges spread over the weeks when people decide: the first week of November when holiday travel gets booked, the week before Thanksgiving when family photos are on people's minds, and the second week of December for last-minute fluff-ups. Each nudge can reuse the same photo with a different one-motion prompt, so the three clips look related without being identical.

Make one clip per nudge and keep the caption doing the work. A caption with the dates still open, the phone number and a plain "message us to book" converts better than anything added to the video. The video exists to stop the scroll for six seconds with a dog that looks cared for.

If a slot count is tight, say so honestly. "Four spots left the week of Dec 14" is a fact you control, and you can swap the caption without regenerating the clip.

  • Nudge one: early November, book travel-week grooms.
  • Nudge two: Thanksgiving week, family-photo grooms.
  • Nudge three: mid-December, last openings only.

Where a 6-second clip works, and where it does not

Six seconds suits a story slide and a grid reel loop. It will not carry an offer with terms. Put the slot dates, the price and the phone number in the caption and the link sticker. If you want a talking intro with the groomer's studio instead, use an avatar clip, but remember Avatar 1.0 is English-only.

Ask the pet owner before using their dog's photo in an ad, even though the dog does not mind. Salons do the same with client hair; see hair salon promo video with AI for that shape of post.
