Dental marketing videos with AI: what to make, what to skip
Dental marketing videos AI can make without a patient: a meet-the-dentist clip, first-visit and FAQ answers, and office-photo tours. What to skip, and costs.

The dental marketing videos a practice can make with AI are the ones that don't need a real patient: a meet-the-dentist clip, a walk-through of a first visit, short answers to the questions new patients ask, a new-patient offer, and your own office photos turned into short moving shots. What AI should not make is a smile, a treatment result or a before-and-after; those have to come from real patients who agreed to be shown.
The Sume facts below come from the Generate avatar video, Create new avatar, Video generation, Timeline 1.0 and Video captions docs and Sume's Terms of Service, read on 2026-09-29. Points marked as current behavior are read from Sume's code.
What dental video ideas work without a patient?
Each of these is one short script or a handful of photos, so you can post one a week and replace any that go out of date:
- Meet the dentist: who they are, what the practice focuses on, and how to book.
- Your first visit: check-in, what happens in the chair, how long it takes.
- One question per clip, answered in words your dentists have written or approved: payment options, parking, what to bring to a first visit.
- An office tour made from your own photos of the reception, rooms and equipment.
- The offer, hours or insurance note, burned on screen as exact text.
- Clinical explainers for existing patients are a different job; AI avatar for healthcare covers patient education.
Can AI make before-and-after smile videos?
It can generate one, but you shouldn't post it. A generated smile is not a result any patient got, and Sume's terms say generated outputs should not be treated as a factual record of real people or events, and not to use Sume to mislead people about the authenticity of generated media.
Real before-and-after photos also need the patient's permission. Sume's terms say you represent that you have permission to use any person's likeness, and ask you not to submit private information you don't have permission to use. Keep patient names and records out of every prompt and script.
How do I make a dental promo video from office photos?
Send each photo at a public HTTPS URL as the first_frame in frame_images on POST /v1/videos, with a prompt for one small camera move. Each model lists the clip lengths it accepts on GET /v1/videos/models, so check them before you submit. Only the first frame is your photo; everything after it is generated, so watch each clip for rooms or equipment that aren't yours. Then join the clips under a voice-over in a Timeline render, which reads only your workspace's media.sume.com files and, in current code, keeps only the voice spine and optional soundtrack. Restaurant promo video walks through the same photo-to-promo steps.
How do I make a meet-the-dentist video with AI?
Create an avatar from the dentist's reference photo, with the dentist's consent, then send each script to POST /v1/avatar-1.0/talking-video. Sume accepts a script when it estimates the video at 4 to 60 seconds. Use 9:16 for Reels and Shorts or 16:9 for your website; 720p is the documented resolution. In current code the avatar speaks English only. Caption each clip with POST /v1/video-captions, which in current code refuses videos over 60 seconds or without an audio stream.
How much do dental marketing videos cost?
Each piece is billed per call from one prepaid balance.

| Presenter clip, default quality | POST /v1/avatar-1.0/talking-video | $0.245 per second |
| Voice-over for a photo tour | POST /v1/tts-1.0/generate | $0.0475 per 1,000 characters |

| Captions or on-screen offer text | POST /v1/video-captions | $0.20 per job, for videos up to 60 seconds |
