Cut 15 s and 30 s versions of a creator Short for a brand partner

A brand may ask for shorter cuts of a creator video. Make 15 and 30 second versions from one file with Timeline 1.0 source_in, at $0.10 per ceil minute each.

Cut the creator's Short once per length you need. Timeline 1.0 takes source_in on both the audio spine and each video slot, so a 15 second and a 30 second version come from the same upload. Each render under a minute costs $0.10, so the pair costs $0.20 plus a one-time $0.01 audio detach.

Where lengths come from

YouTube announced Creator Partnerships at the 2026 NewFronts so brands can work with creators (YouTube Blog). The page does not set file lengths for deliverables, so take the lengths from the brand's brief and the placement it names.

One body per length

Detach the audio once. For each version, set audio.duration_seconds to the target and audio.source_in to where the cut starts in the source audio. Send one video slot with the same source_in and duration. The picture and sound start at the same second.

             "source_in": 4, "duration_seconds": 15 },
  "video": [
    { "source_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/creator.mp4",
      "start": 0, "source_in": 4, "duration": 15 }
  ],
  "output": { "fade_out_seconds": 0.4 }
}

Pick the cut points

The docs say audio.source_in works with a single url spine and that the output length stays duration_seconds. Change only source_in and duration_seconds for the 30 second version. Choose a start where a sentence begins, and an end after a full sentence. Use video inspect word timings to find them.

Approval

Send the files to the brand and the creator for approval before anything is promoted. Sume only produces the cut; permissions, usage terms and the ad setup belong to the creator, the brand and YouTube.
