Trim and conform to 1080x1920 at 30 fps in one video-trim job

Video trim's output field re-encodes to a set width, height and 24/25/30/60 fps in the same $0.02 job, exact precision only. Request, ranges and refusal codes.

You can cut and conform in one $0.02 job: send output: {width, height, fps} with the trim and Sume re-encodes the range to that geometry. Width and height run 256 to 2160, fps is 24, 25, 30 or 60, and output works only with precision: "exact" (Video trim).

Request

Keep the audio, trim 8 seconds from the 2-second mark and output 1080x1920 at 30 fps.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-trim \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: conform-001" \
  -d '{
    "video_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/talk.mp4",
    "start": 2,
    "duration": 8,
    "precision": "exact",
    "audio": "keep",
    "output": {"width": 1080, "height": 1920, "fps": 30}
  }'

Field rules

Sume docs, read 2026-10-08
FieldAllowedRefusal
output.width/height256 to 2160400 schema
output.fps24, 25, 30, 60400 schema
output + precision: keyframeNot allowedvideo_trim_output_requires_exact
Raw ffmpeg keys (vf, codec, crf)Not allowedffmpeg_fields_rejected

Aspect ratio caveat

The docs describe output as a conform of width, height and fps; they do not say whether a mismatched aspect ratio is padded or stretched. To change aspect on purpose, crop first with video filter, then conform.
