Colossyan NEO vs NEO2 minutes: 20 and 0.5 on Starter, 30 and 10 on Pro

Colossyan lists two monthly minute pools, NEO and NEO2: 20 and 0.5 on Starter, 30 and 10 on Professional. How to compare that with Sume per second.

Colossyan's pricing page lists two minute pools per plan. Starter has 20 minutes a month with NEO and 0.5 with NEO2, Professional has 30 and 10, and Enterprise is unlimited on both. The text I read does not say what the two names stand for, so check that before you buy.

The numbers

Everything below is from the page as read on 2026-10-07. Colossyan also lists 300+ stock avatars, 700+ stock voices and 120+ languages on every plan.

A fair per-minute comparison

Divide the Professional price by its NEO pool: $59 over 30 minutes is about $1.97 a minute if you use every minute. On NEO2 the same plan gives 10 minutes, so the pool is the constraint, not the price.

Sume bills by the second instead, with no pool to run out of. A minute of avatar video at the catalog rates is $11.04 on standard, $14.70 on plus and $33.00 on max, and a job tops out at 60 seconds. At those rates a bundle of minutes is far cheaper per minute on paper, but the products differ: a bundle buys studio time with a template editor, while Sume's rate buys one rendered job through an API.

Questions to ask Colossyan first

Which engine is NEO and which is NEO2, and do both support the avatars you want? Do unused minutes roll over? What counts as a minute: rendered output, or draft previews too? The pricing text I read answers none of these, and the answers decide whether 0.5 minutes on Starter is a trial or a real tier.

For Sume the equivalent questions have written answers. A job is billed on its estimated duration at the tier rate, with a 4-second minimum, and quality is one of three named values. The previews guide adds that first-frame stills are tier-independent, so you can approve a composition once and still choose the render tier later.

What to decide

If you produce long training modules with many scenes, a minutes bundle fits. If you produce short clips whose count varies month to month, per-second billing avoids paying for unused minutes. Sume's job shape is one avatar, one shared scene, 4 to 60 seconds, as the avatar video guide describes.
