Caption price for a 61 to 180 second Short: confirm it in the catalog

The Sume docs state $0.20 per caption job for videos up to 60 seconds. They give no rate for 61 to 180 seconds, so read GET /v1/catalog before you budget.

The video captions page says each accepted standalone job reserves and captures $0.20 for videos up to 60 seconds under the current fixed estimate. It states no price for 61 to 180 seconds, which is the range of the longer Shorts YouTube now allows. Do not extrapolate. Confirm the live rate in GET /v1/catalog and OpenAPI, as the docs themselves instruct.

What is documented

YouTube's Shorts help, read 2026-10-04, allows Shorts up to 3 minutes, so a captioned Short can run 3 times the priced length. The video captions docs say to confirm pricing in the catalog; the API reference covers the catalog endpoint.

A safe habit

Trim the clip into the priced band if your design allows. Video trim produces cuts. Otherwise read the catalog response before you launch a batch.
