Avatar 1.0 product image surcharge: $0.01 to $0.03 per second
Adding product_image to an Avatar 1.0 UGC ad adds $0.010, $0.013 or $0.030 per second at standard, plus and max. Thirty 15-second plus ads cost $116.10.
How much does it cost to put the product in an AI avatar ad? product_image adds $0.010 per second at standard, $0.013 at plus and $0.030 at max on top of the base rate. A 15-second plus ad is $3.675 without a product image and $3.87 with one.
UGC-style ads are the workhorse of this autumn's short-form buying: the host holds, shows or mentions the product to camera. The surcharge is small, but across a batch it is worth knowing exactly.
The rate card
Rates come from the Sume catalog. The first column is the base rate for a productless avatar video; the second adds the product_image rate. Omit product_image and the video is productless.
| Tier | No product | With product | Surcharge |
|---|---|---|---|
| standard | $0.184 | $0.194 | $0.010 |
| plus (default) | $0.245 | $0.258 | $0.013 |
| max | $0.55 | $0.58 | $0.030 |
A batch of thirty
Thirty 15-second UGC ads with a product at the plus tier cost 30 x 15 x $0.258 = $116.10. The same batch without a product image is $110.25, so the product costs $5.85 across the entire batch.
Scene direction is separate from the product image. You can set scene to a prompt or to a photo reference, and the docs say media fields must be fetchable public HTTPS URLs.
Minimums and limits
The catalog quotes a minimum of four billable seconds, the shortest chunk-planned clip, so a 3-second job is billed as the minimum. The duration window is 4-60 seconds; longer scripts must be shortened or split into more jobs. Pick aspect_ratio from 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, 4:3 or 16:9; the default is 9:16, and resolution is 720p at this time.
Where to save
Draft at standard, approve with a preview, and finish the winners at plus or max. A product surcharge never changes that order; it only lifts each line a little.
Reading the surcharge
The surcharge is small per second but it multiplies across a batch. At plus, the product adds $0.013 per second, which is $0.195 on a 15-second ad and $5.85 across thirty. Whether that is worth it depends on whether the host needs to hold or show the item. A talking-head hook that never shows the product should skip product_image entirely.
- Standard adds $0.010, plus $0.013, max $0.030 per second.
- The product image is an input to the same job, not a second billed job.
- Compare a product and a no-product draft at the standard tier before you pay for max.
Quick arithmetic
Plus tier without a product costs $0.245 per second, so a 15-second ad is $3.675. With a product image the rate is $0.258, so the same ad is $3.87. Thirty ads at that price come to $116.10. If only ten of the thirty actually show the item, split the batch and save the surcharge on the other twenty.
