Annual vs monthly video tool plans: months before the year wins
Zebracat, Predis, Biteable and Submagic quote lower annual prices. The break-even is 6 to 9 months of use, and a prepaid wallet has no term at all.

Annual plans look cheap per month and expensive per year if you stop early. On the pages read today, four tools show both prices: Zebracat Cat Mode $39 monthly or $23 annual, Predis Core $32 or $24, Biteable Pro $29 or $15, and Submagic Starter $19 or $12. The annual figure is the monthly equivalent of a twelve-month commitment. This post computes how long you must keep each tool for the annual plan to win.
The numbers
For each tool, twelve months at the annual price is the commitment. Dividing it by the monthly price gives the number of monthly payments that cost the same.
| Tool and plan | Monthly price | Annual price per month | Twelve months, annual | Twelve months, monthly | Months of monthly billing equal to the year |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zebracat Cat Mode | $39 | $23 | $276 | $468 | 7.1 |
| Predis Core | $32 | $24 | $288 | $384 | 9.0 |
| Biteable Pro | $29 | $15 | $180 | $348 | 6.2 |
| Submagic Starter | $19 | $12 | $144 | $228 | 7.6 |
What it means
If you will use the tool for the full year, annual saves $84 to $192 on these four. If you will stop in five months, monthly is cheaper on every row. Predis is the most forgiving to monthly billing: you need nine months before the year wins, because its discount is the smallest, 25 percent.
Where a wallet fits
A wallet has no term. The pricing page says teams can fund a shared wallet from $10 to $1,000, and each top-up lot expires 365 days after it is credited, so the longest you can hold a dollar unspent is a year. Pro at $40 a month is a monthly plan, with no annual commitment I can cite; check the page for the current billing options before you decide.
- Seasonal sellers can pay for November and skip March.
- Creators testing a format can stop after one month with no sunk cost.
- Teams with steady daily output are the ones for whom an annual plan makes sense.
- Set a calendar reminder at month eleven before any annual plan renews.
A decision rule
Choose annual when you have used the tool for at least the break-even number of months already. Otherwise pay monthly, or pay per job, and revisit after a quarter.
