Replacing a former spokesperson in six existing 12-second ads costs $27.00 at 768p ($4.50 each) or $40.50 at 1080p ($6.75 each) with H3 Max Recast on Sume. Before you spend it, confirm that you have the rights to put the replacement person in the ads.

Costs for the batch

Recast lists at $0.30 per second at 768p and $0.45 at 1080p, and Sume bills list times 1.25. Twelve seconds is a whole number at both resolutions, so there is no rounding.

Why recast fits this case

The ads already have a tested script, music and edit. Recast keeps the source motion, camera, cuts and soundtrack and swaps the people in them, so the part you change is the face and body, and the part you keep is everything that was approved. A new shoot would repeat all of the work and cost.

Two limits to check on each ad: the length is between 5 and 30 seconds, and no single shot is longer than 15 seconds. A 12-second ad with one continuous shot is fine.

Rights and disclosure first

Sume does not decide who may appear in your ads. The replacement person must have agreed to appear, the photo must be one you may use, and any platform that asks for a disclosure of altered or synthetic media should get one. Your contract with the former spokesperson may also set rules for the old ads. Resolve these before you run the batch, not after.

  • Written consent from the person in each reference photo.
  • A clear, front-facing photo for each person being added.
  • A list of which live ads will be replaced, and when the old ones come down.
  • A review of the new versions before they go live.

Running the batch

Submit six jobs with the same photo and the six source URLs, at 768p first. Review each result, then re-run the ones you keep at 1080p if the placement needs it. If all six are re-run at 1080p, the full spend is $67.50 for a draft and a final of every ad.

A sample release plan

Day one: collect consent and photos, and list the six ads with their lengths. Day two: run all six at 768p for $27.00 and review each for lip movement, product shots and any frame where the former spokesperson is still visible, such as a reflection or a thumbnail. Day three: re-run the rejects and approve the rest. Day four: upgrade the approved files to 1080p if the placements need it and replace the live ads. Keep the old files archived rather than deleted, in case a rights question comes up later. Check any logo or caption that carries the old person's name, since the swap may not change it.
