Amazon Posts 9:16 video: render a vertical product clip
Set aspect_ratio 9:16 on a Sume video request and animate a product still as the first frame.

For a vertical product clip, send aspect_ratio: "9:16" to POST /v1/videos and give a product still as the first frame. Vertical 9:16 is the usual shape for feed-style product video, but the Amazon Ads home page does not state Posts video specifications, so confirm the current ones on Amazon Ads before you render.
What is and is not confirmed
The Amazon Ads page read on 2026-10-03 did not list Posts video requirements. Orientation, length, file size, codec and review rules are therefore unverified here, and this post gives no numbers for them. Check Amazon's own requirements.
The Sume request
aspect_ratio is an optional parameter on POST /v1/videos; examples include 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1. Each model advertises the subset it accepts in supported_aspect_ratios, so read GET /v1/videos/models before pinning a model. With model: "sume/auto" the Auto create controls default to 720p and 8 seconds, with 3 to 10 second clips at 16:9 or 9:16.

The image must be a fetchable public HTTPS URL. Localhost, private-network, non-HTTPS and signed or private URLs are rejected before generation. The submit returns a job id and a polling_url; poll until completed, then download from unsigned_urls[0] or GET /v1/videos/{jobId}/content.
If you need a presenter showing the product, the avatar route takes aspect_ratio values of 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, 4:3 and 16:9 with 9:16 as the default, and an optional product_image. See Generate avatar video.
