AI trading card art: generate at 2:3, then crop to a 5:7 card

Sume has no 5:7 ratio. Ask for 2:3, keep art out of the margins, and crop 6.7 percent off the height. Models, request and crop math.

To make trading card art on Sume, generate at 2:3 and crop to your card's ratio afterwards, because the image catalog has no 5:7 value. A 5:7 card is 1.4 times as tall as it is wide; a 2:3 image is 1.5 times as tall, so you keep the full width and remove 6.7 percent of the height, or about 3.3 percent from the top and bottom. Check your printer's template for bleed and safe zones before you crop.

Which models list 2:3

2:3 appears in the lists for Nano Banana 2 and Pro, Seedream, FLUX.2, Qwen Image, Recraft V4, Grok Imagine and Ideogram V3. The GPT family lists 3:4 and 4:5 but not 2:3 (Image API). Pick on art style, then check the model's ratio descriptor in the catalog.

Request

Keep a generous empty margin in the prompt, since the crop and the printer's trim both eat the edge. Ask for the frame, the border and the card text to be left out, and add them in layout.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/images \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
  "model": "black-forest-labs/flux.2-pro",
  "prompt": "fantasy fox knight in a pine forest, painterly, subject centred with space around it, no border, no text",
  "aspect_ratio": "2:3",
  "output_format": "png"
}'

Series consistency

A set of cards needs one style. Generate an anchor card you like and pass it as input_references on every later call, the same trick used for icon sets and comics (comic generator).
