Yes: AI can make a luxury-style product ad from a product photo, but the style comes from the brief, not from a promise about quality. Sume's catalog Format for it is sume-cinematic-studio-commercial, which you call with one HTTP request and a packshot attached.

The facts below come from the Format catalog, Create a run, Runs and results and the Format's published description, read 2026-09-29. The recipe itself is private.

What does the cinematic studio Format make?

Its description says it creates a finished cinematic studio commercial with premium lighting, macro product detail, precise art direction, and a high-end camera move. It names flagship product launches, technology ads, luxury objects, and polished brand campaigns as the requests it is for, and says it is not for static campaign deliverables.

A second catalog Format, sume-product-commercial, is described as a premium product commercial with a controlled hero composition, tactile material detail, elegant lighting, and one cinematic camera move. The product commercial API post covers that one.

How do I call it?

Use a key with formats:write, address the Format at the sume handle, and attach the packshot as an input_image with a public HTTPS URL. Describe the ad in instruction, up to 8000 characters.

curl -sS -X POST "https://api.sume.com/v1/formats/sume/sume-cinematic-studio-commercial/runs" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: acme-watch-launch-v1" \
  -d '{
    "instruction": "Cinematic studio commercial for the attached watch, macro detail, slow camera move.",
    "attachments": [
      { "type": "input_image", "image_url": "https://example.com/watch.png" }
    ],
    "generation_spend_cap_usd": 30
  }'

What can I read on the receipt?

The create answers 202 with a receipt. Poll status_url or take a terminal webhook; the run moves from queued to processing to a terminal status.

From Runs and results, read 2026-09-29.
StatusMeaning
queuedAccepted, not started
processingThe run is working
completedFinished; output, artifacts[] and primary_output_url are populated
failedFinished with an error; artifacts[] still carries whatever was made

What should the brief and packshot contain?

Attach one clean packshot: the product alone, well lit, at a public HTTPS URL. Then use instruction for what a creative director would put in a brief: the product name, the mood, the camera move you want, and what must not change. The field takes up to 8000 characters, so there is room, but a short specific brief is easier to check afterwards than a long vague one.

The description says the Format is not for static campaign deliverables. If you need stills, pick a different catalog Format from the Format catalog instead of forcing this one.

Will the logo and product stay exact?

The docs do not promise it. Check the product, logo and any printed text on every frame against the real item before you publish; see keeping a product exact in AI video. Make no claim about sales or engagement from the result.

How much does it cost?

A run is metered at the rates on the API pricing page, plus a 5.5% agent fee by default, and can never spend past its cap. generation_spend_cap_usd sets this run's ceiling up to $500; see the spend cap post.
