8x10 inch print from an AI image: dpi by Sume model at 4:5
An 8x10 print is a 4:5 crop. Pixels and dpi per Sume image model: Seedream 5 Lite 240, GPT Image 2.5 custom 300, Flux 2 Pro 154, with price per image.

An 8x10 inch print is a 4:5 portrait (10 inches on the long side). The question is how many pixels each model hands back at 4:5, because dpi is just long-side pixels divided by 10. Sume lists 4:5 for GPT Image 2.5, Nano Banana Pro and 2.1, the Seedream models, Flux 2, Qwen, Recraft and both Ideogram versions; Imagen 4 and Grok do not list it.
Sume's own catalog code fixes the native 4:5 sizes: GPT Image 2.5 serves 1024x1280 for the preset, Seedream 5 Lite serves 1920x2400, the generic custom-pixel models (Flux, Qwen, Recraft) cap the long side at 1536, and Nano Banana Pro's 1K tier is about 928x1152. Read 2026-10-07.
Pixels, dpi and price at 8x10
Prices here are Sume's list-times-1.25 figures. The catalog states the billable formula as "list × 1.25 → ceil usd cents", so treat the dollar amounts as the pre-rounding value and read the exact charge from billable_amount_usd_micros in the submit envelope. Failed or cancelled generations are not billed.
| Model and setting | Pixels | dpi at 10 in long side | Price per image |
|---|---|---|---|
| openai/gpt-image-2.5 high, 4:5 preset | 1024x1280 | 128 | $0.05663 |
| openai/gpt-image-2.5 high, custom pixels | 2400x3008 | 301 | $0.15775 |
| openai/gpt-image-2.5 medium, custom pixels | 2400x3008 | 301 | $0.0395 |
| bytedance-seed/seedream-5-lite, 4:5 | 1920x2400 | 240 | $0.04375 |
| black-forest-labs/flux.2-pro, 4:5 | 1229x1536 | 154 | $0.0375 |
| google/nano-banana-pro 1K, 4:5 | about 928x1152 | 115 | $0.1875 |
Getting to 300 dpi
Only GPT Image 2.5 takes custom pixels large enough to reach 300 dpi at 8x10 without upscaling. 2400x3000 is the exact target, but 3000 is not a multiple of 16, so the nearest legal box is 2400x3008, which is 7.2 megapixels and inside the 8,294,400 cap. Trim the extra 8 pixels in your layout tool. The price jumps because output tokens scale with area: $0.0395 at medium versus $0.01425 at the preset.
For 200 to 240 dpi, which is fine for most home and office printers viewed at arm's length, Seedream 5 Lite at 240 dpi and $0.04375 per image is the cheapest route that needs no custom size at all. Anything under about 150 dpi (Flux 2 at 154, Nano Banana Pro at 115) is a screen or a small frame, not a wall print.
Do not use the large 4K tiers just to chase dpi on an 8x10: you pay for pixels you cannot print.
