A section divider 1440 pixels wide and 180 tall is 8:1, so you can generate the divider at its own shape with Nano Banana 2.1 on Sume. One costs $0.10 at 1K and $0.15 at 2K; a set of five costs $0.50 and $0.75.

Request

import os, requests

body = {
    "model": "google/nano-banana-2.1",
    "prompt": "Seamless abstract wave pattern in deep blue and cyan, horizontal, no text, no objects",
    "aspect_ratio": "8:1",
    "resolution": "1K",
}
r = requests.post(
    "https://api.sume.com/v1/images",
    headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SUME_API_KEY']}"},
    json=body, timeout=60,
)
print(r.status_code)  # 200 = image body, 202 = job envelope
if r.status_code == 200:
    out = r.json()
    print(out["data"][0]["url"], out["usage"]["cost"])

Use it in CSS

Set the box to the same shape so the browser never stretches the image:

.divider {
  width: 100%;
  aspect-ratio: 8 / 1;
  background: url("/img/divider-1.webp") center / cover no-repeat;
}

Gotchas

  • At a retina 2x display, 1440 CSS pixels needs 2880 image pixels. Read the returned file's width; if it is smaller, pick a higher tier or accept a softer divider.
  • Ask for no text and no objects, so a cover crop on narrow screens can't cut anything meaningful.
  • Convert the downloaded PNG to webp in your build for page weight; the Image API's output_format is catalog-gated, so check the descriptor before you request it.
