Kling 4.0 makes 30 seconds in one pass, but Sume's Kling surfaces reach 30 seconds in two ways today: one motion control job at $4.725 (30 x $0.1575), or two 15-second kling-3 jobs at $4.20 silent (30 x $0.14) or $6.30 with audio (30 x $0.21), joined on Timeline. They solve different problems, so the cheaper one is not always the right one.

What Kling says about itself

Kling's own page lists 3 to 30 seconds of native generation for Kling 4.0, with early access from 2026-09-28 and a full launch in October 2026 (read 2026-10-05). No date is given for the full launch and fal has not published an API price. So a plan that needs 30 seconds today uses the routes above, and switches when a new id appears in GET /v1/videos/models.

What you give up on each

Motion control gives you one continuous take and exact motion from the reference, but every pose comes from the performer, so you cannot invent action that you did not film. It also has no aspect_ratio field: the output follows the inputs.

Two kling-3 jobs give you scene invention from words, and a choice of 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, but they produce a seam at 15 seconds. You hide it by passing the last frame of job one as the first frame of job two, and by joining with a short crossfade. The join is a Timeline job, so budget for it separately.

Neither route is the same as the Kling 4.0 product. Kling 4.0's 30-second native pass is not callable through Sume today.

A rule for picking

If the 30 seconds are a performance that you already have, spend $4.725 on motion control and keep one take. If the 30 seconds are a scene that you are describing, spend $4.20 on silent kling-3 and add narration or music as a separate track, which avoids the $2.10 audio premium.

If you need one unbroken 30-second generation from a prompt, check the catalog rows for models that list 30 seconds. Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 do, and each has its own price and ratios.

Checking the arithmetic

The three totals come straight from the per-second prices. 30 x 0.1575 = 4.725. 30 x 0.14 = 4.20, which is two jobs of 15 x 0.14 = 2.10. 30 x 0.21 = 6.30, which is two jobs of 15 x 0.21 = 3.15. The join on Timeline and any frame extraction for the hand-off are billed apart, so add them to your plan from their own pages rather than from this one.
