The short answer

One finished social image a day for 30 days costs $3.60 on Sume if you make it the way most teams iterate: three low-quality drafts, one medium refinement and one high-quality final. That is 3 x 1 + 1 x 2 + 1 x 7 = 12 cents a day, and 12 x 30 = 360 cents ($3.60) for the month, at GPT Image 2.5 prices for 1024-class images.

The daily recipe, itemized

Prices are Sume billable cents per image at 1024x1024: low 1, medium 2, high 7 (provider list x 1.25, rounded up).

One day and 30 days of GPT Image 2.5 images, by step, as of 2026-10-08
StepImagesPer imagePer day30 days
Low drafts3$0.01$0.03$0.90
Medium refine1$0.02$0.02$0.60
High final1$0.07$0.07$2.10
Total5$0.12$3.60

How the plan flexes

The final is 7 of the 12 daily cents, so the final tier is the lever. If every final is xhigh at 12 cents, the day costs 3 + 2 + 12 = 17 cents and the month 17 x 30 = 510 cents, or $5.10. If you skip the medium step and make 4 low drafts and one high final, the day is 4 + 7 = 11 cents and the month $3.30.

If you post twice a day instead, the totals double. Sixty finished images a month with the same recipe is $7.20. The cost scales with the number of finals more than with the number of drafts, because a draft is 1 cent.

Versus rendering everything at high

The same five images a day, all at high, would cost 5 x 7 = 35 cents a day and 35 x 30 = 1,050 cents ($10.50) a month. The draft ladder above is $3.60, which is 34 percent of that. You save $6.90 a month by keeping the high tier for the one image you intend to publish. At 150 images a month in total, the average cost per image under the ladder is 360 / 150 = 2.4 cents.

The saving depends on your hit rate. If you need two high finals a day because the first rarely works, add 7 x 30 = 210 cents: the month becomes $5.70.

Limits worth knowing

The Images page says to set a higher quality for finals, dense text or packaging, and that the generation is all-or-nothing, so a failed attempt is not charged. It also documents num_images (1 to 4): asking for four drafts in one call is billed as four images, so batching does not discount the price.

This is only the image bill. It leaves out any caption writing, scheduling or video, which are separate. For the per-model comparison of image prices, see the related posts below.
